Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine

Today I had my first appointment with an Acupuncturist/Chinese Medicine Doctor here in Austin.  My left shoulder has been hurting for the last month, so I'm glad I finally got around to making an appointment.  The first treatment she did was scraping my skin with a piece of water buffalo horn that looked like a giant toe nail.  My uber-sensitive skin turned red right away, then started to look like a hickey.  After the scraping she did some cupping---can you tell where that was?  After those two treatments she gave me an acupuncture treatment.  I have a mark from that too.  One of the spots now has a black bruise.  At first it was raised and knotty, but it has settled down.

Reggie--it was kind of uncomfortable while she was doing the scraping and one particular spot was sore afterward--that is the only spot that is still bruised. The cupping didn't hurt, and the acupuncture doesn't hurt either. The good news is that my shoulder feels much better.
