Richard and Monica's Wedding

We drove down to Boerne, TX for the union of Monica and Richard. We had a great time at their wedding. I'm not sure what was my favorite part. Maybe the flowers. They were lovely. The wedding ceremony was outside. It was cool and breezy. Quite a change from the previous days.

They cut a pie instead of cake. The little jars had individual pies in them. The jars with white stuff: ice cream.

On Sunday Ross spotted this cow chewing a long piece of rubber. We made a U-Turn to take a photo.

I actually had some fun dancing at the wedding, but we didn't get any clear photos. It had been a long time since I'd been to a wedding. It was a blast.

Laura and Jason's Wedding

We had a good time at Laura and Jason's wedding. It was great to see them and Troy, Christine, Debra and Rachel. The actual wedding was lovely. I especially enjoyed the priestly blessing (which I'd never heard in a church before), and the Irish song that followed. With all the music I know my mom would have loved it.

I love cake, and had three pieces! Of course that was partly because I knew I was starting no C diet on Sunday (which was violated by coffee twice already!) Ross and I enjoyed the mariachis and the pinata was just plain funny. I don't think I will be going to another wedding anytime soon, and I know there will never be another one like this!

Formal Wedding

Yesterday I accompanied my mom to a wedding (my dad was happy to stay home and sleep). The ceremony was very nice, with live music and singing. There were more people at the reception than were at the church (Rude! Don't get my mom started). The reception was a lavish affair at the country club. They did a whole bunch of stuff I'd never seen before....like dancing around with balloons (the kind you make balloon animals with) and making all the guys wear aprons when they were gathering to catch the garter. They had live music at the reception also. We all had fun dancing. Just us girls. During one of the few moments of non-blaring music I managed to catch the bride and groom together to say Oseh Shalom over them. It is part of the Kaddish prayer that I basically tell people means "peace out" or "peace to you." It sounds all cool cause it is in Hebrew, so people feel all special. Wow, I can't believe how late we stayed. It was a really good time. Weddings are fun. Me and Mom in our formal attire.

The Wedding

Well, so much has gone on since my last post, but I'm not going to try and cover it all. We went to Austin last Friday for Aaron and Sujata's wedding. On Friday we had County Line for lunch and then went to Amy's downtown. I had rum raisin and bourbon custard. Oh, the bourbon was so good. Then we went to a little get together that Aaron and Sujata were having. I got mehndi done on my hands and Ross played games with the guys. We got to see the sari ceremony and then got some sleep. On the day of the wedding one of Sujata's aunties helped me with my sari and it looked so nice. We had a pretty good time. On the way out of town we stopped at Amy's again (like we always do). Ross had mexican vanilla and I had sweet cream with strawberries cause nothing else sounded as good as the bourbon custard. I'm now trying to recover from all my travelling. I have a few days to rest before my birthday party, which I really need to get to work planning....
