Kitson's Graduation

We drove to El Paso last weekend for Kitson's graduation.  Damn I feel old.  I remember exactly where I was when I found out Ross had just become an uncle.  Now I am more than twice her age!

It was good to see everyone. I like that we are close enough to be able to drive in for the weekend--even though I hate the drive.

Kitson will be coming to UT in August. I'm excited to have her closer, but I'm not sure how often wet will get to see her.

Family Portrait

It rained while we were in El Paso. After a couple nights of rain my mom's sages bloomed. I've never seen them like that before. We decided to take a family photo in front of her largest sage bush. Check out how my toes are pointing up!

Well, we won't be going there...

My mom was going to take me to a cupcake place here in El Paso so that I could check it out. I was really curious. The last bakery I tried here was gross. I bought all sorts of cakes and pastries, and they were terrible! Well, the cupcake place is closed today AND tomorrow, so I'll have to wait for my next visit. Uh, I might drive by anyway, you can't trust people's websites lately. Oh, I suppose I could call.
We used to go to Juarez to go grocery shopping. You know, pick up some Mexican Cokes and some produce. We were joking about going to the pharmacy over there and my dad mentioned that 8 people were shot in a restaurant on Friday. He said that at least 40 people have been killed since last Monday. There are shootings every day. I guess we'll just stay close to home.

Formal Wedding

Yesterday I accompanied my mom to a wedding (my dad was happy to stay home and sleep). The ceremony was very nice, with live music and singing. There were more people at the reception than were at the church (Rude! Don't get my mom started). The reception was a lavish affair at the country club. They did a whole bunch of stuff I'd never seen before....like dancing around with balloons (the kind you make balloon animals with) and making all the guys wear aprons when they were gathering to catch the garter. They had live music at the reception also. We all had fun dancing. Just us girls. During one of the few moments of non-blaring music I managed to catch the bride and groom together to say Oseh Shalom over them. It is part of the Kaddish prayer that I basically tell people means "peace out" or "peace to you." It sounds all cool cause it is in Hebrew, so people feel all special. Wow, I can't believe how late we stayed. It was a really good time. Weddings are fun. Me and Mom in our formal attire.
I had a ton of fun with my mom's friend Carol.
Here's us girls dancing. Look at me with my tongue sticking out!

The beautiful bride.
