A Suitor for Spinne?

Spinne is still gracing us with her presence. She seems to be spinning her web earlier and earlier. Recently we spotted another, small, spider (the one on the left) hanging out in the window. I was teasing that Spinne might have a boyfriend. Sorry for flash in the center. It is really hard to get good shots in the window.

Her Name is Spinne

Our spider is named Spinne and this is what she looks like from top side. She still lives in the same window, but lately she has been spinning her web a little higher--up behind the blinds. Maybe she got tired of us shining the flashlight at her. On nights when she doesn't spin a web we can see her hanging out in the top corner of the window. I'm very interested to see how long she will live with us.

Spidey Snacks

This past weekend our yet-to-be-named Spider had some large snacks.

This photo turned out really well. The snack seems to be bigger than the spider and we had no idea what it was. A small praying mantis was watching this all go down.

No clue was the spider was eating on Sunday night, but it also looked pretty big.

On Monday we didn't see the spider or a web, so we thought it had moved on. On Tuesday there still wasn't a web, but Ross spotted the spider hanging out in the upper corner of the window. Maybe those two big snacks were enough to hold the spider (dang it needs a name) over for a couple of days. Ross said the spider was back last night.

Resident Spider

As I've said before--I live with spiders. Well, about 10 days ago we noticed a spider in the kitchen window. Each night she (Ross thinks it is a she) comes out and constructs a new web. We have actually been able to watch her do it several nights. Then she waits for dinner to arrive, and by morning the web and the spider are gone. It's so neat to see her and her web night after night.

I Live with Spiders

I live with spiders. Spiders set up shop in every corner and under every cabinet. Today I had to disturb a spider that had created an intricate web across the clotheslines. I accidentally brought him in with the laundry and had Ross toss him back outside. When I was putting away laundry I saw some lint in the dresser drawer. I picked it up and oops....squished a spider. The spiders don't really bother me. I tell myself that they eat other bugs. I just don't like cleaning up after them. They leave little droppings and insect carcasses. Sometimes the little egg sacks freak me out. I think about a hundred little spiders crawling out of there and it is a creepy thought.

When I went to try and take a photo of any of the many spiders I live with they were all shy. Oh well, y'all know what a spider looks like.
