Bo's One and Only

Earlier this week as I was leaving for Yoga I noticed that Bo's one fruit had fallen to the ground. It had been raining and the wind had been blowing. The outside of the orange was yellow and green, and the inside was yellow and pink (not yet blood red.) Because this was Bo's first and only fruit I really wanted to try it. I peeled the orange and tried a few segments. I was pleasantly surprised that the fruit was not sour. I only ate some of the orange--unfortunately part of it has started to grow mildew.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that next year Bo will bear more fruit.

Limerick and Bo

A few weeks before Passover I bought Ross two citrus plants. Both plants had blooms on them. The blooms became buds, and then they all fell off. Recently the two trees bloomed again. One tree is loaded with buds. The other has just one fruit.
This is Limerick. He is covered in bunches of lime buds like this.
This is Bo--and his one marble-sized orange.

Sad Tree Stump

This is what the neighbor's tree looks like now.  I guess they just didn't/don't want a tree in their front yard.

Crimes Against Nature

I don't know what the heck my neighbors were thinking, or doing, or aiming to do, but they completely mutilated the tree in their front lawn.  They somehow partially cut through the branches/trunks, then threw straps around them and ripped them off.  My heart really hurts for this tree.
